Ariela - Skater Vibe
After working together at a few of my events, Ariela and I finally made time for a dedicated shoot on August 27th. We merged the skate culture vibe with my graffiti wall set—I love how the energy came together!
Fun Fact: I used AI on a few shots to enhance the blend and mood of the background and foreground.
The 3-light setup was designed to feel urban: I used two Godox MS300Vs with yellow gels to create that background light look on Ariela, and a Godox AD600 with a 42-inch Glow beauty dish as the main light.
Shot on the Canon EOS R / RF24-105mm f/4 L at f/8, 1/100 sec, ISO 100.
Jordan - Lounging
Flashing it back to April 14, 2023 for this elegant lounging lifestyle shoot with Jordan. I wanted to create a distinct, separated look using a cool background tone on the grey canvas.
Here's the setup:
Separation/Background: Godox AD200 with a 7-inch reflector, blue gel, and barndoors.
Key Light: Godox AD600 on a 25-inch Glow beauty dish.
I shot this on my Canon EOS R with the sharp RF50mm f/1.8 lens. Camera Settings: f/2.8, 1/200 sec, ISO 100.
Elena - Swimwear
This set comes from the content day I hosted at the studio on February 22nd, a collaboration with the Models of Texas Angels. It was a pleasure to meet the lovely Elena that day, and since then we've continued to build on our working relationship to create some beautiful images.
For this set, the gear and settings were as follows:
Camera: Canon R5 with an RF70-200mm F2.8 lens
Lighting: Godox DP400III-V with a 7-foot octagonal softbox (key light) and two Godox SK400s with 48-inch strip boxes (fill lights)
Settings: f/9, 1/100s, ISO 100
Chi - Net Gown
Chi and I took these images at the Leslie Studio on January 8th, 2025. We aimed for a moody, 70s-inspired vibe, so we created the set with a vintage lamp, an old radio, a retro box TV, and a paneled wall adorned with a framed painting. To complete the aesthetic, we dressed her in a fitted net dress. I shot these images with a Godox 60W LED light as the key, and an 80W GVM RGB light panel to complement the ambient light from the lamp. I used my Canon R5 with the Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 lens to capture these images, with settings at f/1.4, 1/100s, and ISO 400.
Tamahtzi - Gold Elegance
Kicking off my 53rd season of life with a glamorous studio set featuring the amazing Tamahtzi, (8-26-25)! I had the pleasure of meeting her at a fashion show in March and knew her elegant look would be perfect for this kind of set.
For this set, I used a 4-light setup:
Key: Godox AD600 on a 42-inch Glow beauty dish
Fill: Godox AD200 on a 25-inch Glow beauty dish
Backlights: Two Godox MS300Vs with strip boxes
Camera Settings: f/9, 1/125 sec, ISO 100 on my Canon EOS R5 with an RF24-105 f4 lens.
Madeline - Red Chair Project
Months of preparation culminated in my "red chair project," a studio shoot I envisioned and finally executed. I painted the chair specifically for this idea, and Madeline's posing and stunning presence were key to bringing the concept to life. The bold reds of the chair, phone, heels, and lips stand out against the depth of the shadows. My lighting setup included a Godox AD600 with a Glow EZ Lock 25" softbox as the key and a Godox AD200 with a 7-inch reflector dish for fill. The settings were f/7.1, 1/100s, and ISO 100. The shoot was accomplished on August 3rd 2025.
Veronica - Red Corset
A beautiful and sexy low-key boudoir session with Veronica from back on February 5th. The simple lighting setup was all we needed to create a striking look, with her boots gradually disappearing into the darkness for a touch of drama.
I used a Godox AD600 on a 25-inch Glow beauty dish for the key light and two Godox MS300Vs with strip boxes for backlights.
Settings: f/8, 1/200 sec, ISO 100
Emerald - 80s Records
Time for a trip down memory lane! Back in May 2023, I had my first photoshoot with the amazing Emerald. We decided to go for a vibrant, 80s vintage vibe.
For this look, I styled Emerald in a classic pink leotard paired with thigh-high socks and tennis shoes. To complete the retro feel, we brought in some fun props: headphones, a vintage record player, and records scattered across the floor.
To create the right atmosphere, I used a few different lighting elements. I set up LED bars on the wall in a 'V' shape and added some RGB wands to cast a soft pink ambient light. For the main light, I used a Godox SL-60W.
I shot the entire set on my Canon R with a 50mm f/1.8 lens, using the following settings: f/1.8, 1/100 sec, ISO 100.
It was a blast creating this set, and it's still one of my favorites. Hope you enjoy this little flashback!
Saige - Pink Swimwear
On February 22, 2025, my studio hosted a content day for Models of Texas. Although I was initially there as a host, I ended up helping to capture some of the beautiful models. This set of Saige was shot using my Canon R5 with an RF70-200mm F2.8 lens. The lighting setup included two Godox SK400s with 48-inch strip boxes as fill lights and a Godox DP400III-V with a 7-inch octagonal softbox as the key light. The camera settings were f/9, 1/100s, and ISO 100.
Daisie - Fishnet Stockings
05-07-25, I had a shoot with Daisie, where she wanted to express her emotional side. We worked together to create a series of images that beautifully blend vulnerability with a sense of quiet sensuality. I think she did an incredible job of conveying that emotion, and I’m honored to have captured it.
For this session, I used a Canon R5 with the RF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. To shape the light, my main light was a Godox AD600 inside a Glow Deep Parabolic modifier, with a Godox AD200 in a 25-inch Glow beauty dish for fill. My Camera settings: f/8, 1/400 sec, ISO 100.
Madeline - Kick Off Week
"I had an impromptu shoot with Madeline on August 26th. While the plan was to use the rain machine, we started indoors to celebrate the NFL season with some football-themed shots. We went for two distinct looks: a low-key and a high-key set.
For the low-key setup, I used a Godox AD600 with a 42-inch Glow beauty dish for the key light. A Godox AD200 with a 25-inch beauty dish provided lower fill, and two Godox MS300Vs with 3-foot strip boxes created visible backlights.
The high-key images were lit with two Godox SK400s and 48-inch strip boxes, while a Godox DP400III-V with a 7-inch octagon softbox served as the key light.
All images were captured with a Canon R5.
Camera Settings:
Low Key: RF24-105mm F4 L lens at f/9, 1/125 sec, ISO 100
High Key: RF70-200mm F2.8 L lens at f/9, 1/100 sec, ISO 100"
Rubi - Red Lingerie
Captured on February 7th, 2025, this low-key portrait session with Ruby highlights a striking red fishnet trimmed dress and matching fishnet thigh-high stockings. The set was lit to create a dramatic, moody aesthetic using four strip boxes: two 4-foot Godox SK400s as key lights and two 3-foot Godox MS300Vs as separation lights. The images were taken with a Canon R5 and an RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM lens, using the following settings: f/11, 1/100s, and ISO 100.
Kendra - Lil Black Dress
On June 4, 2025, I photographed Kendra in a form-fitting black dress. Her long hair and legs really made the outfit pop, and together we created some beautiful images. I started the shoot with my standard three-light system: two Godox SK400s with 4-foot strip boxes and a DP400III-V for the 7-foot Octagon key light. For a low-key look, I then turned off the two SK400s and used a single Godox AD600 with a 37-inch Glow Deep Parabolic modifier. The images were captured with my Canon R5 and the RF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens.
Kristina - Drinks
On May 24th of 2025, Kristina & I were scheduled to meet at the Houston Museum to capture some images walking around but we got the time mixed up and would not have made it in time. Instead we headed to Ruggles Black, a Paleo Keto Friendly Restaurant in the River Oaks area. We caught up and conversated on future endeavors then captured these cool images over a few drinks.
Stacey - Victorian
On March 3rd of 2025, Stacey and I got together to capture a few sets to build up her portfolio. For this set we went with a Saloon styled outfit, with corset bustier, ruffled skirt and boots to match. I added some red leaf trees for a prop to go with her red corset. I paired my Canon R5 with my RF70-200mm F2.8 to capture these images as well as my Godox AD600 with a 37" Glow Deep Parabolic modifier. My settings were f3.2 1/100s and ISO 125.
Garcia - Sisters
Excited to finally share these images of the Garcia sisters together, a set you haven't seen on the blog yet! This shoot took place on November 16, 2023, at Mulberry Studio before it closed its doors. While I had worked with Rebecca before, this was my initial experience photographing Alexa, and despite sharing the space with another photographer, our collective workflow was exceptional. This session kicked off many more collaborations with them, a journey documented in my earlier and upcoming posts.
For the captures, I relied on two setups:
A Canon R5 and the RF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens at f/5.6, 1/125 sec, ISO 100.
A Canon R with a Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 lens at f/1.4, 1/160 sec, ISO 200.
KJ - 2 Piece
On May 16th, 2025, I photographed KJ for her comp card, specifically focusing on swimwear opportunities with this set. These images highlight her impressive figure. I shot with my Canon R5 and the RF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, using settings of f/9, 1/100 sec., and ISO 100. For illumination, I relied on the Godox DP400III-V paired with a large 7ft Octagon softbox.
Chi - Ladder
Captured these images of Chi in January at the Leslie Studio. I utilized my parents' old wooden ladder as a prop, finding its aesthetic well-suited for her long legs, and opted for a semi low-key lighting setup. The key light was a Godox AD600 on a 42-inch octagon, with a Godox AD200 on a 27-inch octagon providing lower fill. Shot with a Canon R5 and the RF70-200mm f/2.8 lens at f/9, 1/100 sec, ISO 100.
Railey - Black Stockings
Talk about turning a 'bad luck' day into pure gold! These images of Railey, shot on Friday, June 13th, 2025, are easily my favorite set of the year so far – and I've had some really strong ones waiting to be posted. We absolutely crushed it, capturing so many incredible moments that choosing what to edit was the hardest part. My gear for this session was the Canon R5 paired with the RF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. For lighting, I used the Glow EZ Lock 42" softbox with my Godox AD600 as the key, and the 25" softbox with my AD200 for fill.
Kylie & Kayla - Patriotic
I captured these vibrant images of Kylie and Kaylie using my Canon R5 paired with the RF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. For the key light, I used the GVM-ST300R with a Godox CS-85T Lantern Softbox (33.5in), and a Godox 60W LED light with a 25in octagon served as the fill. My settings were f/2.8, 1/160s, and ISO 400. While initially shot for the Houston Rodeo season, their outfits also beautifully lend themselves to a patriotic theme!
