Shelby - Harley Quinn Danger

Shelby - Harley Quinn Danger

I’m a comic book geek so anytime I have the opportunity to capture comic book cosplay I’m quick to answer the call. On August 5th a day before the new Suicide Squad movie came out, Shelby and I got together to create this cool rendition of Harley Quinn. She made a great Harley, it was like the character was made for her personality. It took me a little minute to create the chaos set but I believe it was well worth it. Lighting for the venture was a couple of GVM led lights, one with a 42 in Octagonal soft box for the key light, front and the other with a Godox projector attachment shooting a window shadow on the scene. 2 GVM RGB lights and smoke were also used to pop a few different colors onto the scene. My camera of choice was my Canon R mirrorless camera with my Canon 85mm EF lens and adapter.

Anny - Fantasy Warrior

Anny - Fantasy Warrior

This set left me breathless. I didn’t think anyone would come close to topping her friend’s (Sarah IP), Elf Warrior set, but now I can’t say which I like best. Anny really embraced this set and helped me create some beautiful art. I used 2 GVM led lights, one with a 42 in Octagonal soft box for the main light, front left and the other with a 14x63 in strip box to fill, side left. Then I added 2 GVM RGB led light on both rear sides to light the smoke. My Canon EOS R was used with a Canon 85mm F1.8 lens. My settings were set at 1/100 sec, f/1.8, ISO 100.

Sarah IP - Elf Warrior

All I can say is WOW! These are the types of shoots I love. Saturday, May 8th, Sarah came by the studio and helped me create these awesome elf warrior images. There were lights everywhere, smoke coming from different directions and plenty of weapons. It actually took me about an hour to set up the scene. I used 2 GVM led lights, one (main-front) with a 42 in Octagonal soft box and the other (fill-front side leftf) with a 9 x 35 in strip box, then back lit with 2 Goxox SK 400ii strobes with 14x63 in strip boxes. then one Godox AD200 with a blue gel to light the smoke. The smoke came in from both sides. My Canon EOS R was used with a Canon 85mm F1.8 lens. My settings were set between 1/50-1/80sec, f/1.8, ISO 100-200.

Christine - Princess Leia

Christine - Princess Leia

“May the 4th be with you.” Finally I remembered to capture some images just for the 4th of May. I’ve always had outfit to celebrate the Star Wars franchise but I’ve always been to busy to offer someone the shoot. This year I invited Christine to come to the studio and help me create a little magic. Wow, she did a great job, I was highly impressed by her modeling. Even though she didn’t know much about Star Wars, I showed her a few images and she knocked them out the box. I will definitely recommend her for modeling jobs. My Canon EOS R was used with a Canon 85mm F1.8 lens. And my lighting for this set was a Godox SK400II with a 60” Octagon soft box, accompanied with two Godox SK400II studio strobes with 14x63in strip boxes with honeycombs to give me my pure white background, which helped me with the composite images.

Julie - Sucker Punch - Throwback

Julie - Sucker Punch - Throwback

Back on November 16th of 2017, Julie and I put together this epic set in homage to the character “Baby Doll” from the 2011 movie “Sucker Punch.” When I first worked with her I knew she would be perfect for the cosplay of this character. Her eyes, nose, lips, hair and of course body made her a perfect fit. This is the first time all 80 of these images can be seen in one place. Why 80, well because she had a flawless face and body. The only editing was spent on lighting. I used my Canon EOS 7D Mark II to capture these images with a Canon 50mm lens. The composite image was done by my studio partner at the time Juan Cruz.

Heather - Police Officer

Heather - Police Officer

Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t mind being pulled over by this police officer. Heather is one of my favorite models to work with even though we hadn’t work together in a little over a year when we got back in the studio together, (December 29, 2020), it was like we had never stopped. A Godox SK400II studio strobe with a 38” deep parabolic octagon softbox and a SK300II with a 8”x24” stripbox was used to light up this funsized model. Camera of choice was my Canon EOS R mirrorless camera and 35MM Sigma Art lens.
